Fight erupts on campus

At the Student Activities Center Monday, Feb. 23, a physical altercation erupted between a male and female wanting to discuss an ex-girlfriend. Paramedics were called to aid the victim, who received a laceration to his left ear. The male suspect was arrested and charged with mayhem, battery on school grounds and disturbing the peace.

Victim of chokehold

Officers responded to a disturbance call involving a male and female couple, Tuesday, Feb. 24.

When officers arrived, the male suspect had the female by the neck while she was waving her hands and calling for help. Personal property taken from the victim was later recovered.

The suspect had been released earlier that morning from the Torrance Jail for being drunk in public.

He was transferred back and charged with robbery, false imprisonment on school grounds and disturbing the peace. The victim also filed for a restraining order.

Burglary suspect nabbed

Officers stopped a vehicle on Manhattan Beach Boulevard across from the faculty yard for a speeding violation on Thursday morning.

The driver was on probation for burglary and had a $10,000 warrant out from the Gardena Police Department where he was transported and booked.
