Popularity is a bragging right in high school and is coveted by a lot of people; but in college, it is a totally different story. It is not about having the best fashion style or the most jersey letters. Being well-known takes on a different form in college and comes with additions especially when one is involved in the Associated Student Organization-it's about the responsibilities, interaction with the staff and students and amount of time and effort poured into serving the school.
Social Security may still exist, and can at least have time bought, by allowing money to be taken from a larger income percentage over time. To fund Social Security a worker pays 12.4 percent of their paycheck to the government or a maximum of $90,000 on the first $725,000 dollars of income.
Free speech: It is one of the most valued constitutional rights of Americans; and yet a vessel of that freedom is being silenced in Ventura County. The campus newspapers of Oxnard and Ventura colleges may be on their way to extinction. To close a $7.5 million budget gap for this year and the next, The Ventura County Community College District trustees recently closed cafeteria services and reduced nearly two dozen academic programs and laid off about 130 instructors at Oxnard, Ventura and Moorpark colleges.

White wooden crosses hang from a wall that separates Nogales from Arizona; each cross represents a person who lost their life while trying to cross over to the United States.
